About us

Empowering People.
Accelerating Entrepreneurs.
Advancing Manufacturing.
We’re here to help Cincinnati and its hard-working men and women thrive. And to build a center that will house programs that fuel progress, productivity and pride in our community. CoMADE is a unique and groundbreaking manufacturing initiative that will be an engine for new job growth, new opportunities and new hope for the Greater Cincinnati region. The 100,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art center seamlessly combines workplace, workshop, and classrooms in one. Cincinnati deserves this, its people deserve this, and our team has been hard at work to make it a reality by 2020

Our Start

With a lean start-up mentality, we launched Cincinnati’s first hardware accelerator in 2012. First Batch is one of only a dozen U.S. physical products accelerators. It is the region’s principle vehicle to start and grow scalable physical product businesses, and we have advised 4 classes of entrepreneurs through the program.

First Batch will operate side-by-side with several pilot programs while construction of the new CoMADE center is underway.

First Batch, was, in a way, our minimum viable product. Our leadership team realized we were supporting entrepreneurs in the region, but without the desired scale of impact on communities and on the regional economy.

The idea for CoMADE was born out of the experience of successfully directing First Batch for several classes, benchmarking against top-notch programs in other cities, and imagining the power and potential of bringing the programs together under one roof.

On our journey, CoMADE has inspired broad community support, including the Avondale Community Council, a top tier Advisory Board, and a world-class volunteer cadre in all relevant fields.
